Welcome

A village school atmosphere

We are proud of our village school atmosphere, and our children thrive in the amazing environment we can offer them and the attention we can give them. Our children leave here armed with rock-solid academic foundations, an appreciation of the wonderful world around them and very happy memories.

Our school motto ‘Life In All Its Fullness’, is at the heart of everything we do at Cathedral School.

Our strong pastoral care nurtures each child, supports parents and children, and helps to prepare each pupil to take his or her place in the world that never stands still.

Our school prides itself on fostering a life-long love of reading within all our children. Through their time here, our children are taken on a reading journey, where they are excited, challenged and captivated by books of all types and genres. By the time they leave us, they will have developed a true passion for reading, both for pleasure and information.

Fruits of friendship with god

These values shape every aspect of our community, guiding how we support and nurture each child.

Our school is deeply rooted in the nine fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

We believe that every child is unique, developing at their own pace and in their own way, and we strive to provide an environment where they can flourish. United by these timeless principles, our school encourages children to work, learn, and play in a way that reflects these values, fostering both individual growth and a strong, caring community.

Amazing

The Cathedral School is amazing. We were very impressed with the friendliness of the children and staff. The children were very engaged and eager to share their experiences of World Book Day with us.

Highly recommended

‘After visiting 100s of schools over the last 27 years, I had one of my best school visits in Cathedral School with enthusiastic children and staff – who clearly had a thirst for poetry and, particularly, performing it.

Nothing else compares

Performance

Performance and music are key components of the cultural life of the school

Performance and music are key components of the cultural life of the school. For the former, we have many opportunities for children to shine, from the four productions we stage each year to the workshops at the nearby Globe and the Menier theatres.

Our performances take place in the Cathedral and also on our stage with professional sound systems and two lighting rigs.

Why work with us

We guarantee complex modern approach & long-lasting results

Our curriculum is sequenced purposefully, and careful attention has been given to what pupils should learn in each subject during their time at school. Knowledge and skills have been progressively sequenced so that pupils build on what they already know, ensuring that they are appropriately challenged and have a secure understanding of their learning.

Academic Excellence

Cathedral School is one of the top schools in the country for its academic standards. Recently, we were London’s top performing primary. Our holistic approach and our broad and balanced curriculum ensures all pupils here thrive. We challenge all children, including those of the highest ability, often providing learning well above the ‘expected’ level for their year group.

We are a member of NACE (National Association for Able Children in Education) and offer after school reasoning tuition in Y5 for all pupils preparing for the 11+. A high proportion of our children leave here for grammar schools and selective schools with scholarships.
