Stars of the week: Yousef & Amelia
Class 4 have been busy in Math mastering the complexities of time. The children worked hard on reading clocks accurately, focusing on the difference between ‘past’ and ‘to’ the hour. They also tackled converting between analogue and digital formats, as well as switching between 12-hour and 24-hour clocks. To finish the week, they applied these skills to solve practical problems by adding and subtracting time intervals.
In Science, we began our new topic on living things and their habitats. The class explored how scientists classify different animals based on their features, which led to some excellent discussions. The children particularly enjoyed debating how to categorize “tricky” animals like dolphins and penguins, using their scientific knowledge to explain why these creatures belong to specific groups.
