🌟 Stars of the Week: Isla and Larken-Chima

Isla and Larken-Chima are the Stars of the Week for showing perseverance in computing while creating digital art inspired by Piet Mondrian. They were able to use the shape and fill tool accurately and the undo button to correct errors.

This Week in Class 1:

This half term, our computing unit has taken us into the colourful and creative world of digital art. The children have been exploring how technology can be used as a tool for artistic expression, experimenting with a range of features in Paint to bring their ideas to life.

We began by learning how to use key tools such as shape, fill, and line, and then applied these skills to recreate artwork inspired by the famous artist Piet Mondrian. The class carefully used rectangles, straight lines, and bold primary colours to mimic Mondrian’s distinctive abstract style.

Building on these skills, the children turned their attention to a festive project: designing their own digital Christmas cards. Using the techniques they had practised, they created bright, imaginative, and beautifully composed seasonal digital art. .

It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they combine creativity with computing. We’re excited to continue exploring what digital tools can help us create next!

DT

For DT, the children will be making lunch boxes for Paddington. Please can you send in a labelled shoe box and washed out plastic containers. For example, yoghurt pots, grapes tray etc. Thank you for your continued support in this. We will be making our lunchboxes in the last week of term.

Have a lovely weekend.
