๐ŸŒŸ Stars of the Week: Aurelia and Leo

Aurelia and Leo worked hard in our science lesson, carefully labelling parts of the face, accurately drawing their own faces using a mirror, and writing sentences to describe their features.ย

This Week in Class 1:

This week in science, we continued our work on learning about the different parts of the human body, with a special focus on faces. We explored a variety of features such as eyelashes, eyebrows, nostrils, and earlobes, discussing how each of these parts helps us and makes us unique.

The children had a wonderful time using mirrors to study their own faces carefully. They then drew self-portraits, labelling their features with great accuracy and attention to detail. After that, they practised writing descriptive sentences about themselves, such as โ€œI have blue eyesโ€ or โ€œI have black hair.โ€ This activity not only helped them understand the parts of the face better, but also encouraged them to use clear, descriptive language in their writing.

Next week, we will be continuing our science topic by moving on to learn about different types of animals and comparing their features to our own.

Finally, thank you to all the parents who came along to the curriculum evening on Wednesday. It was wonderful to see so many of you there. Iโ€™ve attached my slides so you can refer back to them, and please donโ€™t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
