Stars of the Week: Tabitha and Eyoel
This week in Class 6 we have been looking at formal and informal register. We continued reading the next chapter in our class text and read up to the part where Percy Jackson is about to be expelled from his school. Following this, we planned out two very different messages: one of them was the very formal letter from his headmaster, and the other was an informal text to one of his closest friends Grover. The children adjusted the formality of each message brilliantly, with some contractions in the informal text and some longer complex sentences in the formal letter.
In Maths this week, we have been looking at how to calculate missing angles within triangles and quadrilaterals. Well done for remembering the total angles within each shape and using that to subtract the particular angles. It’s just like a code breaker – you have to unlock one of the missing angles first before you can move on to the other missing angles.
