Stars of the week: Thomas & Sienna
This week, our class explored how mechanical systems work. The children followed a specific design criteria to plan and build their own moving models. This task required them to use technical knowledge to turn a simple input into a controlled movement. They developed their knowledge of levers and pulleys in preparation for their own designs.
In English, the children have begun with their new reading material ‘The Pebble in my pocket’ and explored the journey that a pebble can go through and the vast span of time they have been around for. The text links closely with our Geography topic and explores how volcanoes can impact the Earth in many ways.
