In Math, the children have been working very hard with their fractions, converting between decimals and fractions. They have learnt the value of the tenths and hundredths and found equivalent fractions for them. In addition, they have also applied this knowledge of fractions to the metric system and money. Learning how fractions are applied in measurement (mm, cm and m) and money (pence and pound).
In English, the children have been progressing through the book, ‘Spymaster: First blood’ where they have learnt a range of Tudor words such as jerkin, quill, inkwell, urchin, foundling and yeomen. They have inferred from the character of Jack Briars and how he has felt on his journey from the abbey to Hampton Court Palace.
