Stars of the week: Ted & Annabelle
In maths, the children have been recapping their understanding of the four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. They’ve taken on the challenge of more complex, multi-step problems, helping to build their confidence as they begin to bridge the gap to the Year 5 curriculum.
In English, the class has been busy crafting persuasive letters based on our class text, The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. Using a range of AFOREST features (Alliteration, Facts, Opinions, Rhetorical Questions, Emotive Language, Statistics, and Triplets), the children wrote passionately to their neighbours and villagers, arguing their views on how to deal with the Iron Man.
