Stars of the week: Grace & Jonah
This week in Class 4, the children explored the different properties of the states of matter. They defined solids, liquids and gases, and then developed their understanding further by applying these definitions to classify more challenging substances. These included rice, toothpaste, salt and sand. Through careful observation and discussion, the children reached some interesting conclusions and explained the reasoning behind how they classified each material.
In English, the children have been working very hard. They have been learning about the rediscovery of the Titanic in 1985 by Robert Ballard. Using this event as inspiration, they have been writing diary entries imagining the moments leading up to the discovery.
