Stars of the week: Ibrahim & Ava
In Art this week, the children learned about Picasso’s blue period, a sad time in his life, where he produced typically colder coloured pieces of art to reflect this. We looked at how Picasso used shading to provide depth to make things appear 3D and the children had their own go.
Throughout the week, class 4 have been developing and immersing themselves further into the world of the Vikings, learning about their history such as important monarchs and Danegeld. The children created poems about Danegeld and Æthelred the Unready and why he was named this.
In maths, the class have worked hard with their column additions, learning important rules such as lining up the place value columns, when and where to exchange and where to begin with a calculation.
