🌟 Stars of the Week: Iker and Ruby

Well done to Iker and Ruby for their thoughtful reflections on the Parable of the Lost Sheep. They showed great understanding and empathy in sharing what it means to care for others and value everyone.

This Week in Class 1:

This week, Class 1 continued their RE learning about parables. We have already learnt that parables are stories Jesus told about God, which can be found in the Gospels in the New Testament.

To begin the unit, we talked about our own favourite stories and thought about who tells stories in our lives, such as friends, teachers, parents, and grandparents. We realised that stories often share messages or lessons for us to learn from, which are called morals.

This week, our focus was on The Parable of the Lost Sheep. Class 1 had great fun becoming shepherds and using clues to find sheep hidden around the school! When we returned to the classroom, we reflected on the moral of the story.

We discussed how this parable teaches Christians that everyone is important to God, no one is ever forgotten or left behind. The parable teaches that everyone is special and loved by God.

Have a look at our display on The Lost Sheep Parable; it features some of Class 1’s reflections and the sheep the children created in art, made from paper plates and cotton wool.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Kandiah ✨
