🌟 Stars of the Week: Wonu and Zac

Wonu and Zac are our Stars of the Week for their enthusiasm in history. Class 1 began learning about the life of Queen Victoria and impressed me with how many interesting facts they could remember.

This Week in Class 1:

It’s so lovely to have the children back in the classroom after a restful Easter break. This week, we started our new history topic on the Victorians, and in our first lesson we explored key facts about Queen Victoria. The children worked brilliantly to create fact files, gathering all their information together and showing great enthusiasm for learning.

Here are some questions you can ask your child:

What year did Queen Victoria become queen? 1837

How old was she when she became queen? 18

Who did she marry? Prince Albert

How many children did she have? 9

What things were invented during her reign?  The 1st Easter egg, steam trains, photographs

When did she stop being queen? 1901

What did Queen Victoria do when Prince Albert died? She wore black clothes for the rest of her life.

A quick reminder that PE will be on Tuesdays this half term.

For our upcoming art lesson, please can each child bring in one cardboard toilet roll tube.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Kandiah ✨
