🌟 Stars of the Week: Aaliyah and Phoenix

Aaliyah and Phoenix showed great curiosity and excellent listening skills during our visit from the dentist. They also took part sensibly in using a mirror to look at a model of teeth.

This Week in Class 1:

This week, Class 1 had a very exciting visit from the dentist! The children really enjoyed learning all about how to take care of their teeth and why it’s so important to keep them healthy.

We had lots of important reminders during the visit, such as making sure we go to the dentist at least once a year and to brush our teeth twice a day for two minutes. Everyone joined in beautifully, showing great listening and enthusiasm throughout the session.

Pilar, the dentist, also shared some fascinating facts about our teeth and our bodies. We learned that digestion actually starts in the mouth, when we begin chewing our food. We also discovered that children have 20 baby teeth, and that babies usually start growing their first teeth at around 6 months old!

The children loved taking part in some fun activities too — they had the chance to practice using mirrors to look at some teeth, just like real dentists!

At the end of the visit, everyone was thrilled to take home a toothbrushing chart and their very own toothpaste to help them practise brushing their teeth twice a day for two minutes. The next day, the children were so excited to show me their very clean, shiny smiles; they’ve clearly been putting their new knowledge into practice!

This half term PE is on Tuesdays

Have a lovely weekend.
