🌟 Stars of the Week: Eliza and Enzo
Eliza and Enzo are our Stars of the Week for their effort in English, where they have been confidently writing sentences about The Three Little Pigs. They remembered to use capital letters, finger spaces, and full stops.
This Week in Class 1:
What a fantastic start to the year it has been! The children have settled into their new classroom so well, and we are so proud of how quickly they have embraced Year 1 life.
In English, we have been exploring the story of The Three Little Pigs. The children had great fun using actions to retell the story, with some particularly scary Big Bad Wolf performances! 🐺 After that, we practised sequencing the story before having a go at writing sentences to match the pictures.
To help us, we used our Super Sentences Toolkit, remembering to include capital letters, finger spaces, and full stops. The children worked hard and should be very proud of themselves.

📌 Here are some important things to note:
PE: PE is on Wednesday this half term. Please bring in PE kits on Mondays to account for any timetable changes.
Show and Tell: This will take place every Friday, and all children are welcome to take part each week. Please remember that toys are not allowed. In the past, children have enjoyed sharing books, singing a song, bringing in artwork, or showing photos from home.
Reading Folders: These have been handed out today. Each child currently has a phonics book, and a further reading book will be added in due course. Please be mindful that some books from Reception may be repeated for the sake of fluency and consolidation — if this happens frequently, please do come and speak to me.
Reading at Home: Please remember to read with your child at least three times each week and write a short comment in their reading folder.
