🌟 Stars of the Week: Jack and Meadow

Well done Jack and Meadow for excellent effort during Sports Week! Class 1 have really enjoyed taking part in all the activities this week, showing great sportsmanship, resilience, and skill throughout the week.

.This Week in Class 1

Wow – what a jam-packed week we’ve had in Class 1 for Sports Week! It’s been full of energy, excitement, and new experiences, and the children have absolutely risen to the challenge every single day.

We kicked things off on Monday with a Haka workshop. The children threw themselves into learning the traditional Māori dance – and I have to say, by the end of the session, their fierce faces and powerful moves were quite something to behold! I definitely wouldn’t want to go up against them!

On Tuesday, we held our Sports Day, and what a brilliant morning it was. The sun shone (eventually), the children gave their all, and it was wonderful to see every single one of them taking part. They showed their competitive sides in the best way – with excellent sportsmanship, team spirit, and resilience, even when things didn’t go their way. A huge shoutout as well to the parents who bravely entered our egg and spoon races – there was some serious concentration, a few dramatic squeals, and more than one egg making a bid for freedom!

Wednesday brought a new challenge with a Kick Ball competition led by Miss Bowen. The children loved learning a new game and worked brilliantly together, listening to the rules quickly and giving it their all. In the afternoon, we got stuck into some Olympic-style activities, including throwing and jumping events. The enthusiasm and effort shown was incredible – future Olympians in the making, perhaps?

It’s been an excellent week, full of laughter, teamwork, and so many memories made. A huge well done to all the children – you’ve made us so proud with your positive attitudes and amazing effort. And of course, a big thank you to all the staff and families who helped make the week such a success.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Kandiah
